Wine glass, tuned with water, being hit with an improvised percussion stick made from chopstick and a piece of plastic. Recorded with olympus ls-10 (no zoom) in a small reverberating bathroom, edited in audacity. The whole pack intended to be used as a virtual instrument. Note c#4 (root note c5, 440hz).

I composed a fairly long midi loop of chord progressions & let each section repeat twice. Then i layered a bunch of return tracks of the same line with arpegiated outputs played with straight, quarter note swing eight note swing, 16th note swing, & 32nd note swing all played together. The output was then compressed, heavily chorused through multiple fx devices, and stereo panned into the nonsense you hear. A#2 glockenspiel note in mono, recorded using an akg c3000b and straight into my 'puter. Part of a set. The glockenspiel is a 3 octave educational type, not abig orchestral one, so the octave numbers supplied are actually about 4octaves lower than true!.

A three note bass line with noise. Principle notes are c, d#, f#. This means it doesn't easily fit in a major or minor key, but it would work in something largely in c minor or f# minor. This sample has a tale that fades out.

At the normal pitch of the 17 inch drum, i play several single notes. Feel free to use some sampling or anything!. Recorded with a sm58 in a sound-treated room.

Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. Tuned to e flat, the notes from top to bottom are b flat, e flat, c, low e flat. In traditional indian tuning the root note in the scale is referred to as sa and is e flat in this scale the fifth note (b flat in this scale) is referred to as pa and the sixth note (c) is dha. I noticed that my first pack of tanpura samples has a bit of fuzzy white noise so in this pack i have equalized - i reduced all the very high frequencies which got rid of most of the white noise without affecting the low frequency sounds of the tanpura itself. Please note this is the tanpura part of an instrument called the swar sangam which combines the swarmandal (indian harp) and the tanpura, it is not a traditional tanpura and does sound slightly different.

This standup bass was sampled using a direct pickup as well as stereo overhead mics for some room ambience. Articulations include a normal pizzicato, or finger plucked note; a stopped note as performed with the finger; a stopped note performed bartok style; and some miscellaneous sound effects: a slide by the hand down the strings, a slap on the strings, and a knock on the wooden body of the bass.
